Take Advantage of DOL’s Self-Audit for Labor Laws (SNF/AL)
The Department of Labor (DOL) recently announced several programs to help employers and pension plans voluntarily assess and improve their compliance with federal labor laws. Part of this effort includes self-audit programs aiming to enhance worker protections while reducing the likelihood of formal investigation or litigation. A particularly relevant program is the Payroll Audit Independent Determination (PAID), intended to resolve violations with the Fair Labor Standards Act and the Family and Medical Leave Act. Under PAID, employers are encouraged to conduct audits and self-report violations if they occur.
