Draft MDS 3.0 RAI User’s Manual Now Available

Draft MDS 3.0 RAI User’s Manual Now Available: ​The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services posted the draft Minimum Data Set (MDS) 3.0 Resident Assessment Instrument User’s Manual version 1.20.1​, which takes effect October 1, 2025. Major changes in the draft manual include Changes to Section A: Identification Information; Section GG: Functional Abilities; and Section O: Special Treatments, Procedures and Programs as well as the addition of Section R: Health-Related Social Needs. Specifics regarding all of the changes can be found in the included chapter/section change tables at the end of the draft manual.
