Nursing Facilities Must Comply with Enhanced Facility Assessment by August 8!
The first requirement of the new “Minimum Staffing Standards for Long-Term Care Facilities Rule” to become active is the enhanced Facility Assessment. The rule significantly expanded the assessment requirements. All facilities — both rural and non-rural — must incorporate the new Facility Assessment requirements by August 8. Please Note: While several efforts are underway to prevent CMS from implementing the staffing mandate, it is unlikely that anything will happen before August 8. Therefore, it’s critical that providers understand the new assessment requirements and how to operationalize the changes in your facilities.
