Assisted Living Medication Management

New Program: Student Course

March 13 | Southfield, MI

Many residents in assisted living require support with medication management. This program equips staff to provide this essential service safely, while maintaining compliance with state training regulations. HCAM’s medication management program is tailored to train staff in Homes for the Aged, Adult Foster Care and other assisted living settings.

We are excited to launch this new program for students! Medication aids who take the course will receive the essential knowledge they need to do the job well. The course starts with the basics — covering competencies for administering medications orally, topically, by inhalation and by instillation (eyes, ears, nose). Then support skills, including blood pressure measurement, cold compress application, dressing changes and vital signs, are covered as needed. The course includes competency exams and knowledge checks for each unit, with a course completion certificate awarded at the end.
