Three new Standards were added to the 2024 edition of the INS Infusion Therapy Standards of Practice:
- Drug Diversion in Infusion Therapy
- Vasopressor Administration
- Home Infusion Therapy
The literature supporting the addition of these new Standards include increased reports of drug diversion and the need to employ practices to reduce this risk, an increase in peripheral vasopressor infusions, and the significant growth in home infusion therapy.
