CMS Updates SNF QRP Provider Preview Reports (SNF)
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has updated the Skilled Nursing Facility Provider Preview Reports in iQIES. These reports contain quality measure performance scores that will be published on Nursing Home Care Compare for the January 2026 refresh.
Because of the lapse in federal appropriations during the shutdown, scheduled data refreshes and other routine updates were temporarily paused. With government operations resuming on November 13, these updates are now being released. Data in the Provider Preview Reports is based on MDSs submitted from Quarter 2, 2024, through Quarter 1, 2025. Additional information:
◼️The MDS-based COVID-19 Vaccine: The measures for the Percent of Patients/Residents Who Are Up to Date and the NHSN COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage Among Healthcare Personnel (HCP) are based on data only from Quarter 1, 2025.
◼️The NHSN Influenza Vaccination Coverage Among HCP measure is based on data from Quarter 4, 2024, through Quarter 1, 2025.
◼️The claims-based measures for:
- The Potentially Preventable 30-Day Post-Discharge Readmission and Discharge to Community and the Medicare Spending Per Beneficiary reflects data from Quarter 4, 2021, through Quarter 3, 2023.
- The SNF Healthcare-Associated Infections measure reflects data from Quarter 4, 2023, through Quarter 3, 2024
Deadline: SNFs have until December 18, 2025, to preview their quality measure results in the Provider Preview Reports. However, facilities will not be able to correct any of the underlying data, as all data submission/correction deadlines for the targeted period have passed.
