DEADLINE REMINDER: Mandatory SNF Provider Enrollment Revalidation Due January 1 (SNF)
Skilled nursing facility providers enrolled in Medicare or Medicare/Medicaid must submit a mandatory off-cycle provider enrollment revalidation by January 1, 2026, or risk having enrollment suspended or revoked. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) extended the deadline from August 1, 2025, to January 1, 2026, following our national association’s advocacy efforts asking for relief on the extensive new reporting requirements.
The association continues to advocate for additional relief. However, as this deadline still stands, it is important for providers who have been notified by their Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC) to ensure that they complete the revalidation submission process by January 1. Contact your MAC provider enrollment helpdesk if you are not sure of your revalidation status.
Resources
- AHCA/NCAL offers a variety of provider enrollment resources on the Reimbursement webpage under ”Resources and Documents.” Providers should also review the two AHCA/NCAL office hours calls from March 28 and April 4 that reflect the updated changes to the sub-regulatory guidance. Email [email protected] with questions.
The CMS website has detailed information on the new organizations and individual parties required to be reported. CMS also offers a step-by-step screenshot of instructions on completing an application via the Medicare Provider Enrollment, Chain and Ownership System (PECOS). If you need PECOS support, email the External User Services Help Desk or call (866) 484-8049
